Boy was it an adventure to get here. Playa Santa, literally translated as “Holy Beach”, lies somewhere along the southwestern coastline of Puerto Rico.
During our vacation in Puerto Rico, we stayed in San Juan and rented a car to drive around the island. After passing through the southern city of Ponce, we kept driving west and stopped at a gas station. I asked if there were any local beaches they’d recommend, and the guy gave some loose directions to get to one.
Relying on a mix of his directions and the usually-correct-but-not-always compass in my head, we drove through several country dirt roads before finally coming to this beach, named Playa Santa. It was a hidden gem!
