A Smithsonian Perspective – Washington DC

Last weekend we went to check out the United States Botanic Garden in Washington, DC, which, if you’re into nature, I highly recommend! Plus, it’s free, and parking right outside is also free on Sunday. With my camera in hand, I felt like a tourist in my own town!

While driving to and from the Botanic Garden, I took several shots of the Washington Monument with the idea of painting one of the photos.

This painting is a mix of acrylic and watercolor, and captures a street view of the Washington Monument, right by the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian.
