Assateague Island National Seashore is on a 37-mile long barrier island with unspoiled beaches and abundant wildlife, located in Maryland, on the Atlantic coast of the Delmarva peninsula. Of all the beaches along the east coast, I would say this one is my favorite.
You can enjoy swimming in the cool ocean or laying in the sand for part of the day, then spend another part of the day hiking through trails and spotting the wild horses that roam the island, as well as other wildlife such as sitka deer, a wide variety of birds (great blue herons, egrets, seagulls, etc.) the Delmarva Fox Squirrel, and more!
This painting is from a photo I took in early September:
Yesterday during movie time with my kids (we watched “Elephant” by Disney Nature), I was inspired to create elephant art!
They are such beautiful, intelligent animals, and roam such beautiful landscapes.
For this artwork, I drew out the elephants (adults and kids alike) in earth-tone colors, set against a colorful backdrop of an African savanna landscape. The landscape is lush with greenery and water, which they are always in search of! This art print is available framed or unframed, with a variety of wood stain color options.
I’m nearing the finish line for this dog painting, of two cute pups sitting together on a forest path! Here it is below. Just have to paint in the rest of the path, some more details on the dogs, and then paint the sides of the canvas a dark forest green as a last step, and it’ll be ready to deliver!
