Amidst every element of weather – sun, clouds, rain, thunder, lightning, heavy winds, light breezes – the tether keeps the boat safely attached to the grounded dock. What serves as your tether that keeps you grounded?
With the new pathway to the One Loudoun clubhouse, it’s easy to walk from our residential part of the neighborhood to the clubhouse. Not only that, it’s a nice walk through nature! You get to walk along the creek, cross over it on the bridge, and continue along the wooden pathway as the trees yield to a bird-watching wetlands. After that comes the clubhouse! I love our neighborhood.
This watercolor painting on paper is painted from the view of having crossed the bridge and looking through the trees towards the clubhouse, which has an awesome architectural design. This painting is part of my growing One Loudoun Art Collection.
Coffee is a daily pastime of mine, which is probably why I love to paint cafes and coffee so much. This watercolor painting shows a sunny street, a parked red bike, and a cafe beckoning you to enter, sit down, take your time, and sip on a coffee. Now that sounds like a day well spent!
The original 9″ x 12″ painting, on archival, acid-free watercolor paper, is available for purchase, as well as 8″ x 10″ archival prints. Just visit the “Buy Art” page for more information.
Lately, my art studio has been used as an organization room, while I’ve been creating art in other rooms, such as the kitchen. However, the studio room that is supposed to have all of my art organized has been a tad messy. So, I’ve embarked upon an art studio cleanup this week, and have pulled out a few paintings from the past year to touch up! Not that they needed it, but I just wanted an excuse to paint for a few minutes without getting into a whole new piece!
Here is one of them – a beach sunset. Just imagine the waves lapping up to your feet and slowly watching the setting sun move along its eternal cycle, while feeling the warm glow of its rays upon the calm waves!
Recently, I completed three 22″ x 30″ custom figurative line illustrations on luxurious, 100% cotton, acid-free Antique White Canson Edition papers.
My client, an art collector in the United Arab Emirates, expressed interest in abstract and romantic line drawings of a couple hugging, kissing, and dancing, to give life and energy to her living space.

Spanish Flamenco Dress Art
When my wife and I were on vacation in Sevilla, Spain, a few weeks ago, we saw several boutique shops full of colorful flamenco dresses. I imagine they all do a great business during the time leading up to La Feria de Abril (April Fair)! La Feria de Abril is a huge annual event held in Sevilla, known for its music, dancing, food, men dressed in suits and women dressed in flamenco dresses.
Here is a charcoal and red ink drawing of a Spanish Flamenco dress that I recently created. Art Prints are available here.
Here is a charcoal illustration of a man dipping a woman, for your partner dancing inspiration!
Here’s a figurative charcoal illustration to get you dancing!
Flamenco music and dance is a passionate art form that originated in the Andalucía province of Spain from Gypsy, Moorish and Jewish influences, among others. This art illustration is inspired by a flamenco show my wife and I took in at the Caja Sol Theater in Sevilla, Spain.
