The other day I finished this custom oil painting of a country estate in La Tuiliere, France.
Looks like a nice place, huh?
The painting has now been shipped off to Colorado to an avid art collecting couple. The husband is going to surprise his wife with it (they vacationed there).
When applying the first layer of paint to a painting, it’s always like looking at a piece of art that just as easily could have been made by a 5 year old version of me:
Then, with each successive layer of paint and fine tuning, the art starts maturing and eventually turns into a professional-looking piece!
Here, I’ve drawn out what I’m going to paint, and added a thin layer of oil paint to about half of the canvas so far.
