This week I’ve been working on a couple paintings of photos I took in Spain and Portugal. Here are a couple sneak peak previews. The first is a sea view from beautiful Nerja, Spain: The second is a tree growing up against a whitewashed wall in the Algarve province of Portugal: What’s your favorite placeContinue reading “Mediterranean Painting Previews”
A couple years ago I did some custom artwork for my friend Travis down in Costa Rica, who was also a Peace Corps Volunteer there and now offers Yoga and Surf vacations through his business Bodhi Surf in Uvita, Costa Rica. Here’s an oil painting of him doing his thing: A mixed media drawing of his sister,Continue reading “Throwback Thursday – Surf Art”
I’d been thinking I wanted to paint something with a pop of red color in it. So I went through some photos I have, and came across one that I took in Ibiza, Spain. The shutter and door colors in the original photo are green, so I decided to switch them to red in theContinue reading “Sunny Red Balcony – Spanish Painting”
Throwback Thursday Art The other day I was thinking that I have a fairly extensive body of work from the past several years, and I’m going to start sharing bits of it every Thursday on my Facebook fan page, on my Twitter page, and right here on this blog! Chefchaouen is the majestic Moroccan city famous for its blue-shaded buildings. This painting is of a photo I took on a sunny day while visiting Chefchaouen.
The scene in this painting is of wild and tropical Corcovado, Costa Rica. Located on the southern Pacific coast of Costa Rica, Corcovado National Park contains the most biodiversity in the Western hemisphere! While a Peace Corps Volunteer in Costa Rica, I got to hike through Corcovado near the end of my service. Original OilContinue reading “Morning on the Beach in Corcovado”
Beach Cactus When I was exploring this beach, Playa Panama, in Costa Rica, I was surprised to come upon a cactus at a far edge of the beach! It seemed to be majestically standing guard over the turquoise blue water.
